Muthu Imesha | Knitwear Collection for Spring and Summer 2012

Knitting is technique to turn thread or yarn into a piece of cloth. Knitted fabric consists of horizontal parallel courses of yarn which is different from woven cloth .and it is a technique of looping yarn over two or more needles to create a flexible and elastic fabric.

This comprehensive design project will promote the hand knitting crochet in Sri Lanka to the world by use them in to high fashion, The best place to achieve this attempt is the European and Scandinavian market, which is still a very good market for the hand knitting industry in world.

The project had been done as a Contemporary knitwear collection for Spring and Summer 2012 to the company of Dalegarn- norway.

The specialty of the project is getting the knots which are using for netting fishery nets in to knitting technique and developed it for making as wearable knitting textile, by constructing the fishery net knots in to knitting techniques.
